갤러리 플래닛은 오는 8월 17일부터 31일까지 간결한 디자인에 수공예적인 고급스러움이 가득 담긴 양웅걸의 가구와 소품 전시 <걸작 傑作>전을 개최합니다. 작가의 이름의 마지막 한자와 지을 ‘작’을 결합해 이름 붙인 이번 <걸작 傑作>전은 나무를 바탕으로 도자, 금속, 가죽 등 다양한 소재와의 결합으로 탄생한 참신함이 돋보이는 선반, 라운지 체어, 소반 등의 신작 가구와 소품 20여점으로 구성됩니다. 특히 중점적으로 선보이는 선반 시리즈는 조선 목가구의 전통적 형태를 유지하면서도 도자기라는 새로운 재료를 더해 현대적 미감으로 재해석한 작품입니다. 이번 전시는 다른 소재의 재료들이 조합되어 연출하는 이색적인 조화로움을 경험할 수 있는 특별한 기회가 될 것입니다.
From August 17th to 31st, Gallery Planet is holding an exhibition <Masterpiece> by Woong-gul Yang, a furniture artist and a designer. The exhibition title “傑作” (Gul-Jak) comes from the combination of the last word of the artist’s name “Gul” and a Chinese word “Jak”, which means “creating”. The exhibition is filled with Yang’s handcraft furniture and props, which shows the harmony of ceramics, metals, and leathers. In particular, the shelf series is inspired by the traditional shape of Joseon wooden furniture. Yang reinterpreted the motif he gained from traditional furniture into modern furniture with a ‘modern aesthetic’. This exhibition will be a special opportunity to experience the unique harmony of different materials.
