Lee Soyoung’s complex exploration of ‘boundaries’ as a concept that encompasses both the separation of adjacent surfaces and the connection of two surfaces is an area of concave angles that emerges between revealed spaces and spaces. This area expands and extends as a ‘pathway (a passage for movement),’ deepening the physical and conceptual density.

She graduated from the Sculpture Department of Ewha Womans University’s College of Arts and obtained a master’s degree from the Nuernberg University of Applied Arts in Germany in 1998. She has participated in over 10 solo exhibitions and numerous group exhibitions and art fairs at various venues including Hidden M Gallery, Yeongeun Art Museum, and Art Space Flask, among others. Her works are held in the collections of several institutions, including the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Seoul Museum of Art, Yeongeun Art Museum, Songeun Cultural Foundation, and Hana Bank.
